Facebook opens a new way to monitize video content shared in the platform. The beta testing is to expand in few more countries

The popular social messaging and media sharing app, Facebook will now offer ad monetization on the video shared in this plateform to encourage creators. The beta testing is already done in U.S. and is going to expand the testing in few more countries.

Facebook in tough competition with Youtube, and other video streaming platform is already tested for video monetization feature and was quite successful. It already planned to expand the service in few countries.
Facebook to enable video monetization option
The beta testing was initially done in U.S. and now creators from few more countries will be added for the testing. The testing will also be performed for regional languages of this countries. The beneficial countries are U.S., U.K., Ireland, New Zealand, Australia. From September creators from South America, Europe, Mexico and Thailand will able to show ads on their videos.
Creators with at least 10,000 followers on a page can make money from ads within three-minute videos that have had more than 30,000 views lasting at least one-minute in the past two months and meet Facebook’s monetization standards. Ad revenue will be split between Facebook and the creator.
Facebook also planned to expand this service to 22 more countries with regional language support in a few month. The service is not provided in India till now but will be available very soon as per the sources.
